What are your processing times?

We aim to process items for shipping within 5-7 business days.

We know that timely shipping is crucial to our loyal customers. Our goal is to ship all orders in a timely manner. Whenever an extended delay is expected in shipping your package, expect an email notification.

Note: While we work five days a week to achieve our goal, during our peak holiday times, or inclement weather, delays may cause an overall increase in shipping times. We will notify you if this is the case. Look for processing times in the announcement bar.

Can I return my items if I am not satisfied?

We do offer returns on products on a case-by-case scenario. If you aren’t happy with your purchase, please reach out to our Customer Care team at SMITHCOCANDLESLLC@GMAIL.COM and we’ll help get the process started. If you're experiencing an issue with a Smith & Co. Candles product, please include photos and a detailed description in your email so that our team can determine how to best lend a helping hand.

As a growing small business, we aren’t currently able to cover return shipping costs, but are always happy to ship exchanges at no extra charge. Exchanges or returns must be made within 30 days of delivery and require proof of purchase (e.g. your order number, order confirmation email). Refunds cover the cost of the item returned and do not include shipping fees. Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on gift cards and third party products.

Coming soon we are going to introduce a sample package to be able to smell our items before purchasing.

What happens if my candles were damaged in the mail?

If damaged occur in transit to your package, please email detailed images of the products, packaging, and box to: SMITHCOCANDLESLLC@GMAIL.COM within 3-5 days of receiving your package. We will file a claim on your behalf and send you a replacement in 3-5 business days (in addition to the 1-3 days for shipping time). Please keep the items and packaging as in rare occasions we have needed to take the items to the local post office for inspection.

What shipping carrier do you use?

We use USPS Priority Mail (1-3 days) for shipping, as we have had the best experience with this service. If you choose a overnight express on orders over $75, we will only ship Priority Mail 1-3 days as we are a small local business covering the cost.

How long will my candle burn for?

16 oz candles have an approximate burn time of 80-100 hours.

8 oz candles have an approximate burn time of 50-60 hours.

How fragrant are your products?

Our products are designed to elevate - not overpower - your everyday. To ensure your space is well-scented, we suggest using each product in the appropriately-sized space.

Small Spaces: 8 oz Candles, Room Sprays

Medium/Large Spaces: 16 oz Candles, Melts, or burning two or more 8 oz or 16 oz Candles at a time in a larger space

Can I get a custom candle for an event I have?

Yes! Please email us at: SMITHCOCANDLESLLC@GMAIL.COM with the information needed on the candle and we further discuss your needs!

What are the burning instructions for your candles?

* Always keep wick trimmed to 1/4"

* Always place on flat surface while burning

* Keep away from children and pets while burning

* Burn for at least 2½ hours on the first burn or until the entire surface has turned to liquid wax to avoid "tunneling"

* Always read and follow the manufacturer’s use and safety instructions carefully

* Extinguish candle if it repeatedly smokes,flickers, or the flame becomes too high

* Always keep candles in sight when in use

*Keep wax free of wick trimmings, matches and any other flammable material.

*Do not burn candle when wax is 1/2" or less from the bottom of the container THIS WILL CAUSE YOUR CONTAINER TO CRACK.

Are your products 100% natural?

We use a blend of natural and synthetic ingredients. All of our fragrance ingredients adhere to strict safety standards set by the International Fragrance Association (IFRA).

Do your wicks contain zinc?

Our candles are made of cotton and are free of lead and zinc.

Can your jars be recycled?

Yes! They can also be re-purposed into vases, storage containers, and more. To recycle or re-purpose your jar, we recommend thoroughly cleansing it with your favorite dish soap. At this time, we do not have a recycling program. We strongly encourage finding your local recycling center to dispose of old jars.

What are the fragrance families?

Fragrance Families can be broken down into several main categories: Floral, Fresh & Clean, Fruity & Vine, Sweet & Spicy, Warm & Woody.

  • Floral Fragrances provide the comforting aroma of freshly picked blossoms. Some absolute staples in this category include rose, jasmine, and lavender.

  • Fresh & Clean Fragrances capture the airy essence of a breeze. Can be aldehydic or metallic in nature, and are typically used to describe water or clean laundry. Herbal fragrances provide the impression of freshly crushed foliage and capture the essence of leaves, grasses, and herbs.

  • Fruit & Vine Fragrances can incorporate a broad range of familiar notes including juicy berries, tart citrus, tropical fruits, and classic notes like apple, grape, or pear… the possibilities here are endless.

  • Sweet & Spicy Fragrances are sweet, vanilla, baked, nutty, and edible types. They may also contain a sophisticated blend of spices such as cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and clove.

  • Warm & Woody Fragrances employ facets such as cedar, oak, pine, and sandalwood. Oriental warmth can also refer to animalic, amber, and musk notes.
